Picture Book Preschool is a gentle lap time curriculum for the very earliest grades made up of excellent picture books organized loosely by theme. It can be used for morning time with your littles, general family enrichment, or as a gentle preschool curriculum. There are 55 themes (with more being added) with 7-10 books per theme. Each theme unit stands alone and the units can be read in any order.
Any way you like! You can use it as a gentle preschool curriculum or you can just read through the books as part of your morning, bedtime, or nap time routine. The books are varied in style and length, but all are lovely in their own way.
Because there is extremely high demand for these books, we have some strict limits on checkouts and returns. In an effort to make this lovely program available to as many families as possible at the same time, each family is limited to 3 themes at one time for a maximum of 30 days, with no renewals. Families may swap out their units as often as they like as new units are available. Participants in this program must commit to prompt returns and agree to give up their spots if their books are not returned by the deadline.
Yes. $10 per family as a one-time material fee. That fee covers the cost of the Picture Book Preschool tote for your family plus helping to defray the significant material costs related to the program. We also suggest that you support the author of Picture Book Preschool by purchasing the PDF for your own personal use. We have quite a few families interested in Picture Book Preschool and we only have 55 (and counting) themes in total available. Register for Picture Book Preschool to get started. We will set up your tote and fill it with three units right away. When you are done with those units, let us know and we will select three new units for you. We will keep track of your progress and make sure that you get new units each month.
We have a lovely checklist for you! We will send one copy home with you for your own reference and we will keep one copy in a binder at the library. As you check out units, we will check them of on our list so that you are always getting through your list.
Sadly, no. You can make requests and we will do everything in our power to honor those! Managing the logistics of more than a dozen families checking out PBP is a bit intense. We cannot easily predict which units will return on which days. But, if we know what your favorites are, we will prioritize those.
